Walk: Sarnano "Cascatelle di Sarnano" to "Cascatella del Pellegrino" Having enjoyed the shaded coolness, return on the track up the track but take the path heading steeply upwards to your right (rather than the left-hand one from where you came), and this gradually becomes another white road. After 200m the path levels off and you leave the forested woodland but continuing on the same track in the open, look out for a track to your left with the signpost "Cascatella del Pellegrino". This track drops down to the stream via short zigzags and you'll find a less spectacular but shaded waterfall here. There is an also a picnic bench where you can stop and drink and eat something. At this point you have a few options - we decided to gain altitude as you can see from our Strava map, but there are no further waterfalls on our route. You can opt to reverse your route and walk back to Sarnano. If it is a hot day, there are tracks that lead to the "Fonte dei Brilli", one of the best roadside sources of cool mountain water in the vicinity. The best way to reach it is to return up the zigzags and when you meet the white road, turn left. After about half an hour kilometre you will reach a road junction (for the camping side) where you turn right. After 300m you reach a junction with the Sarnano-Sassotetto road when you turn right again, and about 200m later on the left is the "Fonte dei Brilli". Sarnano is a 30-minute walk from here; the road can be quite busy at weekends so do take care. | ||||||||
