| - January 2006: Having already discussed plans and designs with our agent/geometria, he organises the workmen's schedules and materials. Italian workmen are very dedicated and single-minded, and don't tend to have lots of jobs going at the same time. Thus, any delays will tend to affect the next client (or affect you if the previous client's work overran).
- April 2006: You should apply for residency if you are goign to use the house, even if only for part of the year. The 'Permesso di Sogiorno' (permission to stay) permit is obtained from your provincial city.
- January 2018 earthquake update: We have had ten fantastic years in rural Le Marche. On 24 August 2016, we were woken by a significant earthquake about 50k away, centered on Accumoli, L'Arquata del Tronto and Norcia. Sadly, many lost their lives that night whereas we were fotunate to escape with relatively minor damage. We had it repaired professionally in weeks, just in time for the October 2016 quake (and one in January 2017). These quakes are not stopping us from living in Le Marche, and people here are anxious for life to continue, while remembering those affected by the various quakes.
