While the Second World War affected much of the Trentino region in northern Italy, there are still some beautiful cities and towns along the River Aldige. The city of Trento is important for many reasons, not least since Catholicism was re-invented here in the mid-sixteenth century. The picture shows Trento's beautiful situation within the Dolomite mountains, and the Brenner Pass is only 100 kilometres (60 miles) to the north. | ||
