This is the ancient city's medieval procession, that threads through each of the city's six neighbourhoods; the picture shows the bands passing through the Porta Solesta borough of Ascoli Piceno on Sunday 3 August, 2008, before the main joust. The Games have a long and unbroken tradition dating from the middle ages, and are offered to Ascoli's patron Saint, St. Emidio (protector of earthquakes). | ||
