Wherever you like - Italy has so much to offer the casual traveller. It is a relatively large country and each region has its own very distinctive characteristics. This site concentrates on two of the lesser known regions, Le Marche and Abruzzo. You might also like to visit the better known regions, all of which are described in detail on the web. One problem with hidden Italy is that few people recognize the best locations to visit. What we are trying to do in this site is get people to try some undiscovered countryside, far away from the city stress and heat of such places as Rome, Milan and Turin. It only takes a bit of adventure and imagination and you could have the holiday of a lifetime, at a very reasonable price
Remember that Italy's main resource is its people, followed by its wonderful architecture, countryside, sights, food and culture. If you arrive with an open mind, you will be well rewarded. It is well to remember that communication is important - a few words of Italian go a very long way. Not only will this guide recommend the sights and sounds of the cities, but also the best of the countryside. The hills and mountains of Le Marche and Abruzzo are often very good places in the height of the summer heatwave - here you will find cooling mountain breezes, sparkling streams with fountains from which you can safely drink and a range of excellent hostelries from where you can take refreshment.
