Typical of the fortified Italian citadella, Rocca di Mezzo lies high in the Abruzzo section of the Appenines. In winter this area is frequently cut off by heavy snowfalls - we sometimes forget that parts of the south of Italy suffer from persistent harsh weather in winter (and these parts are about 150k from the warming influence of the Adriatic Sea). These little villages are well worth a visit; I hope you like my photographic composition. | ||
